SEPULTURA Completes Drums For New Album
May 23, 2008Brazilian thrashers SEPULTURA earlier in the week entered the studio to begin recording their new album, which is based on the Anthony Burgess novel "A Clockwork Orange" (later turned into the classic film by Stanley Kubrick). An October release via SPV is expected.
Commented bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr.: "The machine Jean [Dolabella, drums] has recorded 20 songs in two days, and at the moment, we are ahead of our schedule. Later on today we will listen to all material and move forward to the next step: GUITARS!!!"
SEPULTURA's forthcoming CD will be the group's first to feature Dolabella, who replaced founding member Igor Cavalera in 2006. Igor has since reunited with his brother and former SEPULTURA frontman Max Cavalera in CAVALERA CONSPIRACY.
SEPULTURA was one of the headliners of the XIII Festival Arte-Nativo Via Rock 2008 festival on May 1 at the Auditorio Municipal, Villarrobledo (Albacete),Spain.
Professionally filmed video footage of the song "Roots Bloody Roots" can be viewed below.

Via Rock is the music festival which has the greatest impact in Spain, with more than 70,000 attendees each year. The annual event has been running for thirteen years and features a lineup that consists solely of Spanish and Latin American artists.
SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser recently completed work on his solo debut, entitled "Hubris I & II". A two-disc set, it is tentatively scheduled for release later in the year via Holland's Mascot Records. The CD was recorded in part at A Voz do Brasil studio in So Paulo, Brazil.
Kisser previously stated about his upcoming solo album, "I'm very pleased with the result so far and I'm excited to hear it all done. It was a long process, a learning process and a great experience. It's a musical journey trough the influences I had for last 15 years of my life and at the same time it's very different from everything I did so far."
